Artificial Intelligence, commonly known as AI, is one of the most important technological developments of the modern era. It enables machines and computer systems to perform tasks that usually require human intelligence, such as learning, decision-making, problem-solving, and language understanding. AI technology is being used in various sectors, including healthcare, education, agriculture, transportation, banking, and scientific research. In healthcare, artificial intelligence helps doctors analyze medical reports, detect diseases at an early stage, and improve treatment methods. In education, AI-based tools provide personalized learning experiences and help students understand complex topics more effectively. Businesses use AI to analyze data, improve customer services, and make better decisions. Farmers are also benefiting from smart technologies that provide information about weather conditions, crop management, and soil quality. Despite its many advantages, artificial intelligence also creates challenges related to privacy, employment changes, and ethical use of technology. Responsible development and proper regulation are necessary to ensure that AI benefits society without causing unnecessary risks. Human skills such as creativity, emotional understanding, and critical thinking will continue to remain important even as machines become more advanced. Governments, researchers, and organizations around the world are working together to develop safe and reliable AI systems. With continuous innovation and responsible implementation, artificial intelligence has the potential to improve efficiency, solve complex problems, and create new opportunities across different fields. The future of AI depends on maintaining a balance between technological progress and human values while ensuring that its benefits reach people worldwide.
5 Minute Typing Test
Five minutes on a fixed clock, in English or Hindi: long enough for your accuracy to settle, short enough to run in both languages back to back.
Exams With 5 Minute Typing Papers
Five minutes appears as a scored paper, a reported paper and an unscored mock. Check your own advertisement before relying on any row.
| Exam | Where 5 minutes appears | Standard | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rajasthan High Court JJA / JA / Clerk Gr-II | A 5-minute Hindi and a 5-minute English speed paper, 25 marks each, then a 10-minute efficiency paper for 50 marks | At least 8,000 key depressions per hour | 2022 advertisement; 2026 instructions |
| UPSSSC Junior Assistant | Reportedly 5 minutes each in Hindi and English | 25 WPM, as reported | Coverage only; check your notice |
| MP CPCT | An unscored 5-minute English mock before the 15-minute English test | 30 NWPM in the scored test | CPCT exam duration sheet |
Rajasthan High Court: Two Papers Back to Back
The court's 2026 instructions run the two speed papers in a fixed order.
Hindi first, then English
Hindi comes first for 5 minutes, then a confirmation and a 2-minute gap with a Start button to skip it, then 5 minutes of English. The court has used Kruti Dev 010 for Hindi, which is in the Layout menu here.
Backspace inside the word only
Backspace works only within the current word; Delete, navigation keys and spell-check are off. Fix a slip before you press Space.
Retyping is allowed
The passage window scrolls, you may retype after finishing, and you click a confirmation to save.
Efficiency is a separate test
A 10-minute efficiency test follows the speed papers. A WPM score does not prepare you for it, so practise it on its own.
Words Needed in 5 Minutes
Words = WPM × 5 minutes, and key depressions = words × 5. The second row is Rajasthan High Court's 8,000 per hour.
| Speed | Words in 5 minutes | Key depressions in 5 minutes | Per hour (KDPH) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 WPM | 125 | 625 | 7,500 |
| 26.7 WPM | About 133 | About 667 | 8,000 |
| 30 WPM | 150 | 750 | 9,000 |
| 35 WPM | 175 | 875 | 10,500 |
| 40 WPM | 200 | 1,000 | 12,000 |
Accuracy Over a Longer Sample
At 30 WPM, five minutes is about 150 words, five times what one minute gives you.
One slip moves the score less
In a 30-word minute, one wrong word is over 3% of your words. In 150 words it is under 1%, so a five-minute accuracy figure reads your habits, not one unlucky key.
Line changes start to count
Five minutes runs through many line changes, where skipped words and repeated lines appear. Each is a full mistake that a one-minute test seldom catches.
The first slowdown shows
Compare this report with your one-minute result. A clear drop in speed is the first sign of the stamina a 10-minute paper will test.
Building Stamina From 1 to 10 Minutes
Move up a step once you meet your exam target at the current length on fresh passages, two days running.
| Step | What you type | Goal at this step |
|---|---|---|
| 1 minute | One short run | Find your ceiling and your most common mistake |
| 5 minutes | One run on this page | Hold the target with steady accuracy |
| 5 + 5 minutes | Hindi, a short break, then English | Two papers in a row, as the Rajasthan High Court sets them |
| 10 minutes | One full run | The length of SSC CHSL LDC/JSA, RRB NTPC and many court tests |
A Daily Routine Built on 5 Minute Runs
About 20 minutes a day, on a fresh passage each time.
- Run 1, English with Backspace enabled: type at exam pace and note net WPM and accuracy.
- Read the report and pick the mistake that appears most often.
- Run 2, English with Backspace disabled: keep moving past every error. The gap between runs 1 and 2 shows how much you lean on corrections.
- Run 3, Hindi on your exam's layout, if your exam has a Hindi paper.
- Once a week, swap the three runs for one 10 minute test to see whether the speed holds.
Scored over the full five minutes. This page stops at 5:00 and gives a verdict only for the full five minutes or a finished passage. It asks for 30 WPM net at 85% accuracy, or 25 WPM in Hindi. Rajasthan High Court and UPSSSC apply their own rules, so check your notice.
