Promoting gender equality and empowering women are important priorities for social and economic development in Bihar. Women play a major role in family welfare, education, agriculture, small businesses, and community development, but many still face financial, educational, and social barriers. Government welfare programmes can help women overcome these difficulties by improving access to education, employment, healthcare, financial services, and legal support. Reservation in local self government bodies, government employment, and other public institutions can increase women's participation in decision making and public administration. Self help group programmes such as Jeevika have encouraged rural women to save money, obtain credit, develop small enterprises, and become financially independent. Training in tailoring, food processing, handicrafts, digital services, agriculture, and other occupations can provide additional income opportunities. Financial assistance and scholarships can encourage girls to continue their education and reduce school dropout rates. Facilities such as bicycles, uniforms, textbooks, and safe transportation can make it easier for girls from rural families to attend school regularly. Women also need reliable access to healthcare, especially during pregnancy and childbirth. Maternal health services, nutrition programmes, vaccination, and awareness campaigns can improve the health of women and children. Digital literacy programmes can help young women use online banking, government portals, educational resources, and employment services safely. Legal awareness is equally important because women should know about their rights and available remedies against harassment, domestic violence, discrimination, and other unlawful practices. District level legal aid and women helpdesks can provide guidance and connect victims with appropriate authorities. Community awareness programmes can challenge harmful social practices and encourage respect, equality, and dignity for women. Police, schools, health departments, local bodies, and social organizations should coordinate to ensure effective implementation of welfare schemes. Regular monitoring is necessary to identify beneficiaries, prevent misuse of funds, and improve service delivery. Supporting women entrepreneurs through affordable credit, technical training, and market opportunities can strengthen rural economies and create employment. Empowered women contribute more effectively to household income, children's education, community welfare, and economic growth. Comprehensive women oriented policies therefore promote financial independence, social security, equal opportunity, and a safer environment. Strong implementation of these initiatives can help Bihar build an inclusive, progressive, and self reliant society where women participate confidently in every field of development. Police stations have an important role in this effort. Women help desks, women constables on patrol and quick response to complaints of harassment give women the confidence to travel, study and work without fear. Awareness camps on legal rights, helpline numbers and safe use of mobile phones are useful in villages and towns alike. When women feel secure, their participation in education, self help groups and local governance grows steadily.
Bihar Police Typing Test — Exam Overview
Bihar Police typing practice should begin with the exact post name. Posts such as Steno Assistant Sub-Inspector, data-entry and clerical cadres are recruited through different advertisements (for example by BPSSC or CSBC), and one timer, speed or accuracy threshold cannot represent every post.
This page uses a 10-minute session with a 30 WPM and 90% accuracy setting. These are TypingHub practice targets, not official qualifying standards. Durations, languages, Hindi font and keyboard layout, speed and accuracy rules and marks vary by advertisement — check your notification.
How this exam differs
Bihar Police practice here runs 10-minute English and Hindi sessions. BPSSC and CSBC advertisements set their own speed and accuracy, so take the official figure from your notice.
Hindi practice can use Mangal or Kruti Dev fonts. Which layout the hall uses is a notice detail, so confirm it before you train one keyboard for weeks.
Steno ASI, DEO, and police clerk notices differ. Confirm whether your advertisement is qualifying only or carries skill-test marks.

| Practice accuracy | 90% | TypingHub target, not a universal recruitment cutoff |

Check the Post Before Practising
- Steno Assistant Sub-Inspector: consult its own skill-test instructions
- Data-entry and clerical posts: check the separate recruitment advertisement
- Other police cadres: confirm whether a typing test applies at all
A shared practice tool does not mean all these recruitments use the same selection or marking rules.
Practice Scores and Official Qualification
- Use this page’s speed and accuracy report to find weaknesses in your typing.
- Use the authority’s notice for qualifying speed in each language, accuracy or error allowance, marks and accommodation conditions.
- Do not convert practice error counts into an official examination score.

How to practise it here
- iRun a 10-minute session in one language, rest, then a session in the other if your notice requires both.

Exam-Day Rules, Accommodations & Common Mistakes
Check the official Bihar Police Typing Test notice
- iReporting time, identity documents, the keyboard and software provided, scribe or compensatory-time provisions, and how mistakes are counted are set by the recruiting body. The current notification and your admit card override any general advice.
- iGeneral questions: Backspace rules, keyboard layouts and Hindi fonts are answered in the typing exam FAQ.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
During Practice
- ✗Practising only English when your notice also requires Hindi
- ✗Looking at keyboard instead of screen/passage
- ✗Switching between Hindi layouts during preparation
During Test
- ✗Spending too much time correcting minor errors mid-way
- ✗Retyping completed portions unnecessarily
- ✗Not confirming the selected Hindi input before the test begins
Mindset Mistakes
- ✗Panicking after making initial errors — composure is key
- ✗Not practising on your chosen Hindi layout before exam day
- ✗Underestimating the importance of posture and hand position
Reading Your Report for Each Language
Compare like with like
Judge English against English and Hindi against Hindi; most candidates are slower in Hindi.
Keep one Hindi layout
Use the layout named in your notice throughout preparation; switching layouts resets muscle memory.
Correction strategy
Fix obvious large errors as you go and keep the rest of the run steady.
Watch the last minutes
Errors that cluster near the end of a 10-minute session show fatigue. Add longer sessions before pushing speed.
Confirm your post
Different Bihar Police posts are separate recruitments. Practise to the pattern in your own advertisement.
Understanding Your TypingHub Practice Report
Characters and words
- iCharacter comparison: Ordinary incorrect, extra or missing characters carry full weight in the practice analysis. A single misspelled word can contain several character errors.
- iCase and punctuation: Case-only substitutions and punctuation substitutions receive half weight. Added or omitted characters are counted separately.
- iSkipped or extra words: The report identifies missing and extra words as well as character differences. Read the highlighted passage to understand each mismatch.
Using the result
- iTwo accuracy measures: Character accuracy and word accuracy measure different things. A word counts as correct only when it matches the reference word.
- iPractice targets: A practice pass or fail is based on this test’s configured targets. It is not a recruiting authority’s qualification decision.
- iOfficial evaluation: Check the notice and evaluation instructions for your exact recruitment year, post and category. Do not convert this report into official examination marks.
Understanding Your Typing Practice Report
The arithmetic behind Gross WPM, Net WPM and key depressions. Your notice decides which of these it uses.
Gross WPM
Gross WPM = (total keystrokes ÷ 5) ÷ minutes. Letters, spaces and punctuation all count, and five keystrokes make one standard word.
Net WPM
Net WPM subtracts a penalty for uncorrected errors from Gross WPM. Two candidates with the same raw speed can end up several WPM apart.
Key depressions (KDPH)
Some notices state speed as key depressions. 35 WPM equals 10,500 key depressions an hour (35 × 5 × 60), and 30 WPM equals 9,000.
Full and half mistakes
TypingHub groups errors to help you review an attempt. Full and half weights in this report are practice feedback; use your recruitment's evaluation instructions for official penalties.
4-Week Practice Plan for Bihar Police Typing Test
An adaptable practice routine, not a qualification guarantee. Repeat a stage until your accuracy is steady.
Week 1: Accuracy base
Touch-typing drills without looking at the keys. Hold 95% accuracy or better and ignore speed for now.
Week 2: Build speed
Two timed five-minute runs a day. Raise your pace by two or three WPM only once accuracy stays steady.
Week 3: Full-length mocks
One full Bihar Police Typing Test mock a day for the exam's full duration. Read the error report and retype the words you missed.
Week 4: Exam rehearsal
Practise at your exam's time of day, on a full-size keyboard, with your notice's backspace rule. Aim a few WPM above the target.
