Clinical research is the careful study of how medicines, devices and methods of care work in real patients, and a hospital that undertakes it carries a duty far wider than the laboratory bench. The administrative office that supports such work must see that every study is planned, approved, funded, conducted and reported in a manner that protects the people who take part. Good administration therefore begins long before the first participant is enrolled. Each proposal must first be examined by an ethics committee, whose members include clinicians, scientists, legal experts and representatives of the community. The committee asks whether the expected benefit justifies the risk, whether the design is sound, and whether the researchers are qualified to carry it out. A study that cannot answer these questions should not proceed, however promising its subject may appear. Informed consent is the heart of ethical research. A participant must be told, in simple words and in a language he or she understands, what the study is about, what will be done, what discomfort may follow, and what alternatives exist. Consent must be voluntary, and a person must remain free to withdraw at any stage without losing the ordinary treatment to which he or she is entitled. The administrative staff keep signed forms safely, record the date and the witness, and ensure that special care is taken where participants are children, elderly persons or those who cannot decide for themselves. Records are the second pillar of good governance. Data must be collected on approved forms, corrected only through a clear and traceable procedure, and stored securely so that the identity of participants remains confidential. Any unexpected harm must be reported promptly to the ethics committee and to the regulatory authority, and the study may need to be paused until its safety is reviewed. Financial transparency is equally important. Funds received from public agencies or private sponsors should be spent only on approved heads, and accounts must be open to audit. A researcher should disclose any personal interest that might influence the conduct or reporting of a study, so that the results are trusted by patients and professionals alike. Finally, findings must be reported honestly, whether they are favourable or not, because hidden failures can mislead future treatment. Training of staff, periodic monitoring of ongoing trials and regular review of procedures keep the system alert. When administration and ethics work together, research advances medical knowledge without sacrificing the dignity, safety and trust of the people who make that knowledge possible. A well organised research office supports investigators at every stage. It checks that protocols are complete, that consent forms are written in simple language the participant can understand, and that approvals are obtained before any patient is enrolled. It keeps a register of all studies, tracks reporting deadlines and ensures that adverse events are reported promptly to the ethics committee. Financial records of research grants must be maintained carefully and audited regularly. Training workshops on good clinical practice help young doctors and nurses understand their duties. Such careful administration protects participants and strengthens public confidence in medical research.
AIIMS CRE Test — Exam Overview
AIIMS typing practice on this page uses a 10-minute session on administrative and medical-office text. Clerical posts filled through the AIIMS Common Recruitment Examination, such as Junior Administrative Assistant / LDC, have included a typing skill test, but each advertisement sets its own rules.
Recent AIIMS notices have used about 35 WPM in English or 30 WPM in Hindi; marks, accuracy limits and duration vary by advertisement — check your notification. The 35 WPM and 95% accuracy settings on this tool are TypingHub practice targets, and TypingHub does not reproduce the official evaluation method.
How this exam differs
AIIMS CRE practice uses a 35/30 WPM practice target in 10 minutes, with passages built around hospital, reservation, and cash-counter vocabulary.
Speed, accuracy and whether the skill test is qualifying come from the CRE notice for your post. Treat the practice result as feedback, not a pass.
It is not CGL DEST (2000 keys / 15 minutes) and not a court typing paper. Stenographer posts may follow a separate shorthand pattern.
Basic Details
| Detail | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Practice duration | 10 minutes | Default timer on this page |
| Practice speed | 35 WPM | Tool target; check your recruitment notice |
| Language preparation | English / Hindi | Confirm the language option and keyboard layout |
| Practice accuracy | 95% | TypingHub target, not a universal recruitment cutoff |
| Report | Speed and error analysis | Does not establish official marks |

| Conducting body | Named in your advertisement | Check which AIIMS or agency runs the skill test |
| Latest instructions | Authority and admit card | Later instructions take precedence |
Check the Post Before Practising
- Junior Administrative Assistant / LDC: consult the CRE advertisement for your cycle
- Data-entry or stenographer posts: separate skill-test instructions apply
- Institute-level recruitments: check the individual AIIMS notice
A shared practice tool does not mean all these recruitments use the same selection or marking rules.
Practice Scores and Official Qualification
- Use this page’s speed and accuracy report to find weaknesses in your typing.
- Use the AIIMS advertisement for qualifying speed, how speed is measured, error allowance, whether the test is qualifying, and accommodation conditions.
- Do not convert practice error counts into an official examination score.
How to Use This Practice Page
What to confirm in your advertisement
- iThe speed required in your chosen language and whether it is stated in WPM or key depressions per hour.
- iThe duration of the skill test and how errors are treated.
- iWhether the skill test is qualifying only for your post.
How to use the 10-minute timer here
- iAt 35 WPM you need about 350 correct words in 10 minutes.
- iAt the 5-minute mark you should be past the halfway point of that target.
- iRecord where you stopped if time ran out; that line shows how far your pace is short.
Preparation Tips & Strategy
Speed & Accuracy Strategy
Accuracy first
Hold your accuracy steady before pushing speed.
Daily practice
30–45 min daily is more effective than occasional long sessions.
Touch typing
Learn home row position and avoid looking at the keyboard.
Build a margin
Practise a little above the speed your notice requires so exam-day nerves do not push you below it.
Mock tests
Practise full 10-minute timed sessions regularly.
Content & Keyboard Tips
Read ahead
Train your eyes to read 1–2 words ahead while typing.
Medical terminology
Practise hospital and administrative vocabulary along with numbers.
Rhythm
Maintain a steady typing rhythm — avoid bursts followed by pauses.
Familiar content
Practise with office notices, circulars and general text.
Error correction
Practise using Backspace efficiently without breaking rhythm, if your instructions permit it.
Exam-Day Rules, Accommodations & Common Mistakes
Check the official AIIMS CRE Test notice
- iReporting time, identity documents, the keyboard and software provided, scribe or compensatory-time provisions, and how mistakes are counted are set by the recruiting body. The current notification and your admit card override any general advice.
- iGeneral questions: Backspace rules, keyboard layouts and Hindi fonts are answered in the typing exam FAQ.
- iRoutines and drills: scoring rules, accuracy drills and test-day routines are in our exam guides.
Reading Your 10-Minute Report
Simulate your notice
Once your advertisement is out, practise the exact duration and language it describes.
Build headroom
Errors pull your net speed down, so aim to type comfortably above the speed your notice requires.
Correction strategy
Fix obvious large errors as you go and keep the rest of the run steady.
Know the passage type
Practise administrative notices and office text that include numbers, dates and designations.
Start slow, finish strong
Build rhythm in the first 1–2 minutes, then hold a steady pace for the rest of the session.
Understanding Your TypingHub Practice Report
Characters and words
- iCharacter comparison: Ordinary incorrect, extra or missing characters carry full weight in the practice analysis. A single misspelled word can contain several character errors.
- iCase and punctuation: Case-only substitutions and punctuation substitutions receive half weight. Added or omitted characters are counted separately.
- iSkipped or extra words: The report identifies missing and extra words as well as character differences. Read the highlighted passage to understand each mismatch.
Using the result
- iTwo accuracy measures: Character accuracy and word accuracy measure different things. A word counts as correct only when it matches the reference word.
- iPractice targets: A practice pass or fail is based on this test’s configured targets. It is not a recruiting authority’s qualification decision.
- iOfficial evaluation: Check the notice and evaluation instructions for your exact recruitment year, post and category. Do not convert this report into official examination marks.
Understanding Your Typing Practice Report
The arithmetic behind Gross WPM, Net WPM and key depressions. Your notice decides which of these it uses.
Gross WPM
Gross WPM = (total keystrokes ÷ 5) ÷ minutes. Letters, spaces and punctuation all count, and five keystrokes make one standard word.
Net WPM
Net WPM subtracts a penalty for uncorrected errors from Gross WPM. Two candidates with the same raw speed can end up several WPM apart.
Key depressions (KDPH)
Some notices state speed as key depressions. 35 WPM equals 10,500 key depressions an hour (35 × 5 × 60), and 30 WPM equals 9,000.
Full and half mistakes
TypingHub groups errors to help you review an attempt. Full and half weights in this report are practice feedback; use your recruitment's evaluation instructions for official penalties.
4-Week Practice Plan for AIIMS CRE Test
An adaptable practice routine, not a qualification guarantee. Repeat a stage until your accuracy is steady.
Week 1: Accuracy base
Touch-typing drills without looking at the keys. Hold 95% accuracy or better and ignore speed for now.
Week 2: Build speed
Two timed five-minute runs a day. Raise your pace by two or three WPM only once accuracy stays steady.
Week 3: Full-length mocks
One full AIIMS CRE Test mock a day for the exam's full duration. Read the error report and retype the words you missed.
Week 4: Exam rehearsal
Practise at your exam's time of day, on a full-size keyboard, with your notice's backspace rule. Aim a few WPM above the target.
