Mobile phones and the internet have become part of daily life for almost everyone, including members of the armed forces. They help soldiers stay in touch with their families, read news and complete official work quickly. At the same time, careless use of these tools can put a person, a family and even a unit at risk. For this reason every member of the forces is expected to follow simple rules of cyber safety, both on duty and at home. The first rule is to protect passwords. A strong password is long, uses a mix of letters, numbers and symbols, and is not based on a name or date of birth that others can guess. The same password should not be used for many accounts, because if one account is broken, all the others become open. Passwords must never be shared with friends, written on paper near the computer or given to anyone who calls and claims to be from a bank or an office. Where it is available, a second step of verification, such as a code sent to the phone, adds another layer of protection. The second rule is to be careful with messages and links. Many frauds begin with a message offering a prize, a job or a refund, or warning that an account will be closed. Such messages often contain a link that leads to a false website or installs harmful software. A careful user does not click on unknown links, does not download files from strangers and checks with the real organisation before taking any action. Calls asking for a one time password should always be treated as a fraud. The third rule concerns social media. Photographs and posts may seem harmless, but they can reveal a great deal. A picture taken inside a unit area, a post about travel plans or a uniform shown with a name badge can give information to people who should not have it. Service members are therefore advised not to post anything about their duties, their location or their work, and to keep their personal profiles private. Friend requests from unknown people, especially those who quickly become very friendly and ask personal questions, should be refused. In the office, official computers are used only for official work. Personal pen drives, games and unapproved software are not connected to them, and screens are locked whenever the user leaves the desk. Any unusual message, lost device or suspected misuse is reported at once to the proper authority, because quick reporting limits the damage. Families should also be taught these simple rules, since a careless post by a relative can cause the same harm. Cyber safety is not a matter of advanced technical knowledge; it is a matter of daily habits, common sense and a clear understanding that information, once shared, cannot easily be taken back.

Agniveer Clerk Typing Test — Exam Overview

Exam & practice guide

Indian Army Agniveer Clerk / Store Keeper Technical typing practice. The Army recruitment notification for Recruiting Year 2027 says the typing test for Clerk / Store Keeper Technical is held during the online Common Entrance Exam (CEE), and that 30 words per minute in English is desirable. Only candidates who qualify the typing test are called for Phase-II (the recruitment rally).

Candidates who choose Clerk / Store Keeper Technical can pick only exam centres with typing-test facilities. The notification does not state the duration, how mistakes are counted or whether Backspace works, so the 10-minute timer, 30 WPM target and 90% accuracy target on this page are practice settings. For the 2027 intake the online exam was listed for June 2026; the next cycle’s dates come on joinindianarmy.nic.in.

How this exam differs

3 Points
1

For Agniveer Clerk / Store Keeper Technical the typing test is held during the online Common Entrance Exam itself, not at the rally. The Army notification says 30 words per minute in English is desirable.

2

Only candidates who qualify the typing test are called for Phase-II, the recruitment rally, so the typing test decides who goes on to the physical tests.

3

Clerk / SKT candidates can choose only exam centres with typing-test facilities. The notification does not state the duration or error rule; the 10-minute timer here is a practice setting.

Understanding Your TypingHub Practice Report

Characters and words

  • iCharacter comparison: Ordinary incorrect, extra or missing characters carry full weight in the practice analysis. A single misspelled word can contain several character errors.
  • iCase and punctuation: Case-only substitutions and punctuation substitutions receive half weight. Added or omitted characters are counted separately.
  • iSkipped or extra words: The report identifies missing and extra words as well as character differences. Read the highlighted passage to understand each mismatch.

Using the result

  • iTwo accuracy measures: Character accuracy and word accuracy measure different things. A word counts as correct only when it matches the reference word.
  • iPractice targets: A practice pass or fail is based on this test’s configured targets. It is not a recruiting authority’s qualification decision.
  • iOfficial evaluation: Check the notice and evaluation instructions for your exact recruitment year, post and category. Do not convert this report into official examination marks.

Understanding Your Typing Practice Report

The arithmetic behind Gross WPM, Net WPM and key depressions. Your notice decides which of these it uses.

4 Measures

Gross WPM

Gross WPM = (total keystrokes ÷ 5) ÷ minutes. Letters, spaces and punctuation all count, and five keystrokes make one standard word.

Net WPM

Net WPM subtracts a penalty for uncorrected errors from Gross WPM. Two candidates with the same raw speed can end up several WPM apart.

Key depressions (KDPH)

Some notices state speed as key depressions. 35 WPM equals 10,500 key depressions an hour (35 × 5 × 60), and 30 WPM equals 9,000.

Full and half mistakes

TypingHub groups errors to help you review an attempt. Full and half weights in this report are practice feedback; use your recruitment's evaluation instructions for official penalties.

4-Week Practice Plan for Agniveer Clerk Typing Test

An adaptable practice routine, not a qualification guarantee. Repeat a stage until your accuracy is steady.

4 Weeks

Week 1: Accuracy base

Touch-typing drills without looking at the keys. Hold 95% accuracy or better and ignore speed for now.

Week 2: Build speed

Two timed five-minute runs a day. Raise your pace by two or three WPM only once accuracy stays steady.

Week 3: Full-length mocks

One full Agniveer Clerk Typing Test mock a day for the exam's full duration. Read the error report and retype the words you missed.

Week 4: Exam rehearsal

Practise at your exam's time of day, on a full-size keyboard, with your notice's backspace rule. Aim a few WPM above the target.
