The MP High Court Assistant Grade-III (AG3) recruitment fills 1,174 posts in the district and sessions courts of Madhya Pradesh under Advt. No. 614/Exam/2026 dated 14 August 2026. Selection has two stages: a 100-mark online preliminary exam, and a Hindi typing skill test of about 350 words in 10 minutes for 50 marks on the Remington Gail layout. The exam date notice (No. 676/Exam/26 dated 9 October 2026) is reported to fix the preliminary exam on 23 and 25 November 2026. Final merit is decided by the typing test alone, so typing is where the post is won or lost.

This guide covers both stages, the typing rules in the advertisement, the CPCT rule and a short practice plan. Always check the High Court's own notice at mphc.gov.in before the test, because a later corrigendum overrides any guide.

What the AG3 recruitment involves

The advertisement is issued by the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur, for posts in the district courts across the state. Applications ran from 17 August to 15 September 2026. Candidates need a graduation degree and a computer qualification (more on CPCT below).

StageFormatMarksRole in selection
Preliminary examOnline, 100 objective questions, 2 hours100Screening only; marks not carried into final merit
Skill testHindi typing on computer, about 350 words, 10 minutes50Final merit list is prepared on these marks

The preliminary paper has five sections of 20 questions each: General Knowledge (with MP GK), Maths and Reasoning, General Hindi, English and Computer Knowledge. Coverage of the advertisement reports a shortlist of about five candidates per vacancy, category-wise, for the skill test.

Skill test: speed, time and marks

The skill test is Hindi only. There is no English typing paper for AG3. The key rules reported from the advertisement are:

  • Passage: about 350 Hindi words, typed in 10 minutes. Finishing the passage means about 35 words per minute.
  • Marks: 50, with 0.50 marks deducted for every wrong or omitted word.
  • Backspace: allowed, but each press costs 0.10 marks.
  • Disabled: Delete, arrow keys and the mouse. Backspace is the only way to correct.
  • Mode: reported as unrestricted mode on a computer at the test centre, with space for about 350 words.
  • Repeats: typing a word or line twice counts as an error.

Reported minimum qualifying marks in the skill test are 55% for UR and OBC, 49.5% for EWS, 45% for SC and 40% for ST and PwD candidates. Confirm these figures in the advertisement itself. If marks tie, coverage reports that the older candidate is placed higher.

The Backspace penalty changes how you should type. Ten corrections cost one mark, the same as two wrong words. Correcting every small slip can cost more than it saves, so practise typing clean the first time. You can check your net speed after any attempt with the WPM calculator.

Font and keyboard layout: Remington Gail

The advertisement names Remington Gail as the only keyboard layout for the skill test. Remington Gail is the typewriter-style Hindi layout. Its key positions are close to Kruti Dev 010, but it is used with Unicode Devanagari text. The coverage we found names the layout only, not a font. A few keys differ from Kruti Dev, mainly the danda, some matras and symbols.

TypingHub types Unicode Devanagari and offers three layouts: Remington GAIL, Inscript and Kruti Dev. Our MP High Court typing test opens in Hindi on Remington GAIL by default. Keep your system keyboard on English; the test converts your keys for the layout you choose. If you learned on Inscript, read Remington GAIL vs Inscript before you switch, and drill the layout on the Remington GAIL typing test.

Where CPCT fits in

CPCT matters at the application stage, not the typing stage. The advertisement lists a CPCT scorecard (from MAP-IT or an agency recognised by the MP Government) as one way to meet the computer qualification. Alternatives include a one-year computer diploma, a COPA certificate from a Government ITI, or a computer-related degree such as BCA, MCA or BE in CS/IT.

A CPCT score does not replace the AG3 skill test. Everyone shortlisted from the preliminary exam must take the 50-mark Hindi typing test. Some coverage says the skill test is evaluated on CPCT-style net speed and accuracy, but the marks rule above is what decides your score.

Exam date and schedule status

  • Advertisement: No. 614/Exam/2026, 14 August 2026.
  • Applications: 17 August to 15 September 2026; corrections 19 to 21 September 2026.
  • Preliminary exam: 23 and 25 November 2026, per the exam date notice No. 676/Exam/26 of 9 October 2026, at Jabalpur, Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Sagar, Satna and Ujjain. One news report also lists 24 November, so check your admit card for your own date and shift.
  • Admit card: expected about a week before the exam; not yet announced.
  • Skill test date: awaited. It will follow the preliminary result.

Because the skill test may come only a few weeks after the prelims result, start typing practice now, alongside your prelims revision.

A 3-week Hindi typing practice plan

  1. Week 1, layout and accuracy: 20 minutes a day on the Hindi typing test with Remington GAIL. Type slowly and aim for fewer than 5 wrong words per 10 minutes. Note which matras and conjuncts you miss.
  2. Week 2, the full 10 minutes: one timed attempt a day on the 10-minute Hindi typing test. Count Backspace presses as well as errors. Work towards 30 words per minute with few corrections.
  3. Week 3, exam conditions: use the MP High Court practice test daily, and try a free daily live typing test when one is open, to type against a fixed window. Target the full 350 words in 10 minutes.

If you want structured lessons from the home row upwards, the Typing Course covers finger placement and daily drills. For the day itself, keep our typing test day checklist handy.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Practising on the wrong layout. Inscript or a phone keyboard habit will not help on Remington Gail.
  • Overusing Backspace. At 0.10 marks a press, constant small fixes add up.
  • Skipping words. An omitted word costs the same 0.50 marks as a wrong one. If you lose your place, find it and continue.
  • Typing a line twice. Repeats count as errors. Keep your eyes on the last word typed.
  • Ignoring matras and half letters. Most Hindi errors come from ि, ्, the nukta and conjuncts, not from whole words.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an English typing test in MP High Court AG3 2026?

No. The Assistant Grade-III 2026 skill test is in Hindi only: about 350 words in 10 minutes for 50 marks. The older JJA 2022 scheme with separate Hindi and English papers was for a different post.

Which keyboard layout is used in the MP High Court typing test?

Remington Gail, as named in the advertisement. Its keys are close to Kruti Dev 010, but a few signs sit on different keys.

Do prelims marks count in the final merit?

No. The preliminary exam is used only to shortlist candidates for the skill test. The final merit list is based on the 50-mark typing test.

Is CPCT compulsory for MP High Court Assistant Grade-III?

A CPCT scorecard is one of the accepted computer qualifications, but a recognised computer diploma or computer degree also qualifies. CPCT does not exempt you from the skill test.

When is the MP High Court AG3 skill test in 2026?

The skill test date had not been announced on 19 October 2026. The preliminary exam is reported for 23 and 25 November 2026. Watch mphc.gov.in and your admit card.

Does TypingHub give official MP High Court marks?

No. Our practice test reports speed, accuracy and every mistake. It does not apply the official 0.50 and 0.10 mark deductions.
